As a Special Education Teacher and passionate traveler I founded The Teacher Travelers LLC, as a way to bring like-minded people together to experience the world they've yet to see in an exciting way that fits their unique school schedule.
Travel led me to teach.
Following 5 summers working at a camp for kids with disabilities alongside staff and campers from all over the world, I was determined to travel.
After graduating with my Bachelors from UMass Amherst, I became a tour leader, taking adults with disabilities on vacations around the United States.
I thought I'd be ready to settle into a 9-5 after that but, as it turns out, I only wanted to explore *more* of the world. I moved to Italy on a complete whim to become an Au Pair for a short time in Rome. My friends and family thought I was crazy to find a family on the internet and hop on a flight to live with them, but I just believedit would work out!
Later, I went off across the pond again to the University of Leeds in northern England to get my Masters in Special Educational Needs.
I took advantage of this opportunity to explore as many new places throughout Europe and Africa as I could. Working as a tour guide during this time also helped me share my passion of traveling the world with other university students!
Finally, in early 2017, I flew back to the States and made my way across the U.S. to Phoenix, Arizona for my first formal teaching job.
I've been working as a self-Contained Special Education/Autism Teacher for 5 years now, and though I absolutely adore all the kids and teens I've worked with, I. am. exhausted.
One thing that I could always identify as a way to "fill my cup" so I'd be refreshed for my students (and myself!), was traveling over school breaks.
That's why I started The Teacher Travelers, to give YOU the much needed traveling therapy you DESERVE!
Places I can't wait to explore with you on my next group trip!
